We hope you are having a great summer.
This month our book theme was "Hot Time in the City" and we read "The Water Knife" by Paolo Baciglupi. Considering the heat and humidity we've been experiencing we found this book to be quite an appropriate choice. The dusty and dry setting and constant battle over water rights offered us a brief taste of a potentially grim future.
For September our theme is "Back to Books" as students of all ages return to class. We chose "The Library on Mount Char" by Scott Hawkins. The first few pages have been intriguing to say the least.
The month of October is usually associated with scary stories and horror. With this in mind, our theme for the month is "......" and one of our club members, Stephano, compiled a special list of scary books to choose from. After another close vote, we finally decided on "Geek Love" by Katherine Dunn.
Copies of the book are available at Epic Books and club members receive a discount.
Looking forward to seeing you at the next club meeting on Monday, September 26th, 2016
