We hope you are staying cool throughout this scorching hot summer.
As I'm sure you noticed, we are debuting our new newsletter format this month. We would also encourage you to take a look at our updated website shipslogclub.com. We have a whole new section devoted to our Pen & Paper RPG game night, Drop'in Dice and we would love to see everyone out for some games in the future.
For the month of June our book theme was "Time Travel" and we met and discussed To Say Nothing of the Dog by Connie Willis. The book was fantastic and we all enjoyed diving into the lighter side of the fantasy genre.
Our theme for the month of July was "Canadian Authors" and we read the fantastic epicMemories of Ice by Steven Erikson. We met this past Monday to discuss the book and also voted on a book for September.
Just a reminder to everyone that for the month of August our theme is "Hot Time in the City" and we will be reading The Water Knife by Paolo Bacigalupi.
For the month of September our book theme will be "Back to Books" and after a tightly contested vote we settled on The Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins.
If you need a copy of The Water Knife or The Library at Mount Char, copies will be available at Epic Books and book club members receive a discount.
Have a safe and fun long weekend!
