April Meeting and Guy Gavriel Kay Book Reading

Good evening everyone,

Tonight we met to discuss A Fire Upon the Deep by Vernor Vinge. The conversation was fantastic and we had a lot of fun discussing jack booted butterflies and skroderiders.

We voted on a book for the month of June and while the vote was close we ended up choosing To Say Nothing of the Dog by Connie Willis.

There was a lot of excitement about the announcement that Guy Gavriel Kay will be coming to Ark and Anchor on June 6th, 2016 to have a discussion and do a book reading to help launch his new book Children of Earth and Sky.

The event is a ticketed event for 30 people and book club members will have special access to tickets for this event until Friday April 29th, before tickets will go on sale to the general public on Saturday April 30th.

Tickets are $35.00 and your ticket will include access to the event, a copy of Guy Gavriel Kays new book and the opportunity to get it signed.

Book club members will be able to purchase two tickets at the club member price and any subsequent tickets will need to be purchased at the general admission price of $40.00.

If you would like to attend this event, reserve tickets or have any questions please email the book club directly.

We are also looking for questions to ask Guy Gavriel Kay during the discussion portion of the event so if you have any questions please email the book club. Questions can deal with any of his works and we will choose between 3 to 5 questions to ask at the event.

For the month of May we will be reading Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay, which coincides amazingly well with his visit at the beginning of June.

This book is available at Epic Books and there is a discount for book club members.

Looking forward to seeing you in May to discuss Tigana!
