On Monday January 27th, 2016 we held our first meeting and officially launched Ship's Log: A Science Fiction and Fantasy Book Club. We felt the meeting was hugely successful and we want to thank everyone for attending! We had some fantastic discussions, made some new friends and chose the first two books we will be reading as a club. If you were interested in coming to the book club but couldn't make it, please do not worry. We will look forward to meeting you when you are able to attend one of our meetings in the future.
The first book we have chosen to read is called The City of Stairs by Robert Jackson Bennett
It is about 450 pages and if you read between 16 to 17 pages a day you should be on track to finish in time for our next meeting.
The book we are reading for March is called Red Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson
It is about 572 pages which equals 26 pages of reading each day.
If you have any books that you want the club to read, suggestions are not only welcome but encouraged! We would love to know what books you want to read so we can start adding them into the book voting list in the future.
If you have any questions, comments or queries do not hesitate to drop us an email firstname.lastname@example.org, post here in the googlegroup or stop in to talk to Patrick at the Ark and Anchor.
We look forward to seeing you on Monday February 29th, 2016 to discuss The City of Stairs.
