Captain's Code

  1. Our club is inclusive and we are a diverse group of participants.  While the nature of literature and games can sometimes prompt difficult discussions, it is important that all people feel safe in our space. As such, comments that are racist, homophobic, sexist, transphobic, ableist, ageist, or feature any religious discrimination are not welcome. Any sort of harassment will not be tolerated.

  2.  Young people between the ages of 12 – 17 are also welcome to join the club. A parent/guardian must accompany them to their first meeting, and if they determine the club is an appropriate space for them, the parent/guardian will need to sign a waiver acknowledging that they are aware of the nature of the book club and the discussions, giving their permission for the young person to attend.

  3.  Books will be selected for reading two months ahead of time. Books will be selected by a vote of the general membership.

  4. Book club meetings are scheduled for 7 p.m. on the last Monday of the month, and discussion will begin shortly after, with the meeting concluding at 9:30 p.m.

  5. Club communication will begin by using a Newsletter to communicate via email.  Be sure to sign up, and add us to your contacts to receive our content. As the club evolves, we will look at other forms of communication, such as online forums.
